Welcome to the American Red Cross Club at
University of California, Davis (UCD). The
club is also known as the ARCC on campus. We
are a student-run organization that is devoted to
providing our members with volunteering
opportunities, survival tips, and CPR/First Aid
training. Our club was
established in 2004 by a group of UCD
undergraduates who wanted to carry on the American
Red Cross mission in Davis, CA. As current
club officers, we will carry out the American Red
Cross mission as well as maintain the structural
foundation that our predecessors created for us. Our
mission statement is, "The American Red Cross, a
humanitarian organization led by volunteers and
guided by its congressional charter and the
fundamental principles of the International Red
Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of
disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and
respond to emergencies". The ARCC is affiliated with
American Red Cross, Yolo County Chapter in
Woodland, CA. We have a relatively small base,
which enables members to build a stronger social
connection. The ARCC is not just an organization
that provides only volunteering opportunities, we
also offer a learning experience for our
volunteers in topics such as disaster preparation
and proper emergency response and most
importantly, the opportunities to be a part of a
team.
